Dynamics CRM Themes

August 31st, 2015 | Posted by Peter Dijkema in CRM | Dynamics CRM Tips

The release of Dynamics CRM 2015 Update 1 sees a new feature being introduced that customers have been asking for for years: The ability to add logos and themes to create a custom look and feel that matches your organisation’s branding.

A theme can be created by using the customization tools in the user interface without any custom code or requiring a developer to do this for you. An end-user or power-user with the correct security levels can create, change or delete themes that are used in your organisation. You can create multiple themes but in the end you can only set and publish one theme as the default theme.

The easiest way to create a new theme is to “Clone” an existing theme.

Go to Go to Settings > Customizations.

Choose Themes and then choose CRM Default Theme. The following screenshot shows the default theme setup.

We have now cloned the default theme and are going to change the colors. The following screenshots show the new colors for navigation and highlighting. You can also choose a new logo for product.

In some cases nothing seems to happen. If that is the case untick “Enable high contrast” in CRM Options and refresh the window.
